Frictionless Movement…..

Ever thought how it would be if we could just float in the air from one place to another without having to experience any bumps on the road. Well its difficult, not impossible .

Here’s an experiment you can try in your laboratory. Its actually based on the effect of temperature on a superconductor.

When a superconductor is cooled to below its transitional temperature, it becomes diamagnetic: this is when something is repulsed from a magnetic field rather than drawn in to it. Hence according to this, an object could be “floated” along a track rather than “attached” to it by wheels.

Most of you would have read about a term called Meissner Effect…. The above stated phenomena in the ‘first line’ is called Meissner Effect and the ’second line’ is where it can be used….
